Meal Planning: Freezer Meals

ree

So it has been a while since my last meal planning post. But I am back and want to give you some tips about making your life a little easier when it comes to taking care of you and your family, especially when it comes to cooking.

In my last post, I talked about Meal Kits. A lot of people I know use them and love them. I too love my company's meal kits (full disclosure: I am a Tastefully Simple Consultant), because I feel that they are a bit more versatile than the other companies that are out there. But which ever you choose if you want to start using these meal kits, make sure it fits into yours and your family's lifestyle. Now if you are not a meal kit person and prefer a more hands on approach, so to speak, then Freezer Meals may be for you.

So what are Freezer Meals? By now, most people have heard of them and some may have started doing them. If you are not sure what they are, here it is in a nutshell. Freezer Meals are meals that you prep as if you are about to cook them, but you put them in a freezer bag, freeze, then pull out and thaw when you are ready to cook. That's it! I love doing freezer meals because it does save time during the week and takes the worry out of trying to decide what is for dinner. Because my work schedule is very crazy, having a meal prepped and ready to go is life saver! A few hours of prep work on the weekend and your have a stress free week ahead. Not to mention saving money by not going out most nights for take-out. Pretty neat, right?

Okay, remember when I mentioned that I am a Tastefully Simple Consultant? Well, Tastefully Simple just happens to have a video that gives tips about Freezer Meal prep. Coincidence? I think not! Nudge, nudge, wink, wink! LOL (Insert smiley face here). Sorry, but I could not help myself. Alright, enough of the shenanigans. To the video!

Now, there are other Freezer Meal systems out there, so please don't think that Tastefully Simple has the market on this. It's just that it was the first to introduce me to this type of meal planning. Here are some of the meals that I have prepped and enjoyed.

As I mentioned earlier and also mentioned in the video, Freezer Meals are a great time saver, saves you money and are a healthier alternative because you control the ingredients. Want less salt? Olive oil instead of butter? Quinoa instead of rice. You make the choice. Don't want to use Tastefully Simple? Find the Freezer Meal that suits you! Have questions? As always, just leave questions and or comments below. Would love to hear from you!
