Healthy New Year!

ree

It's January and this is the month when people typically decide to get healthy. New year, new you. Start healthy habits. Get into shape. You know the drill. Gym memberships go up. Junk foods find their way into the trash and the hunt begins for the newest diet craze. And usually, things start off great. Going the gym everyday. Sticking to the diet. Feeling great! And then it happens. 3rd or 4th week in, things start to fall apart. You did not make that gym appointment because you overslept or got tied up at work. Or you had a very stressful day and that bag of chips was just sitting right there! And of course, you got thirsty and that one little can of soda should not make a difference, right? We've all been there! At least I know I have. So what to do?

First, determine what would be easy for you to do. Don't jump in thinking that you will be able to accomplish every goal all at once. Start of little by little. Want to start a new diet? Great! Find one that is a good fit for you. One that won't make you feel as if you are starving yourself. Not sure what kind of diet is right for you? The following video may give you some ideas.

Once you have picked your preferred method, just take it one step at a time. That's it! If you fall of one day, don't beat yourself up. Just reassess and then start again! Just try to be as consistent as you can. It takes 60 to 90 days to develop a habit so to give yourself some time to get used to doing things differently this year.

I myself am trying something new. I am doing the 14 Day Reset with Tastefully Simple. Why? Because one, it takes me a minute to get into trying something new, so 14 days seems just about the right amount of time. Not too long where reaching my goal seem really out of reach and not too short where I won't be able to see any real results. Second, this is not a diet. It is just a clean way of cooking, so I won't be depriving myself, counting points or fasting. I will be just cooking and eating. This is something I can get behind! Again, this is something that is easy, and the 2 week span will be something that I can stay consistent with. Truthfully? I am a little nervous but excited at the same time. I will keep you posted on my progress. And if you are interested in trying it with, just let me know!

Whatever you decide to do, just remember, take it one step at a time, be consistent, and forgive yourself! Tomorrow is a new day and you can always begin again. Nothing is ever going to be perfect. You just have to start!
