Get Ready For Feast Season

ree

It is officially Fall and the Feast Season is upon us. What is the Feast Season? Starting with Halloween (all of the sweet treats and candy goodness are not just for kids!), then Thanksgiving, Hanukah, Christmas and New Years. After living off of summer salads, grilled foods and cooling fruits, the Fall is all about big family dinners consisting of comfort foods that are of course delicious, but can sometimes be a little too filling.

So, what can we do to prepare ourselves to enjoy Feast Season, but also making sure we are treating our bodies in a more healthy way? Glad you asked! As a Tastefully Simple Consultant, I would not be doing my duty if I did not let you know that we have meal plans to help balance out when we overindulge. There are a few meal plans that can fit any lifestyle. Easy prep, food that you choose and of course, time saving!

Ok, let's tackle the food group that is the most loved and hated. Carbs! I know, I know! Listen, carbs and I go way back! Give me potatoes in pretty much any form, rice, bread, I love them all! But about a year ago, I was diagnosed with diabetes. Luckily, I can control it with diet and exercise, so no medication needed. Whew! I knew it was a possibility that it could happen as my father was diabetic and sadly he passed away from it. My grandfather was also diabetic as well. So when I got the news and my doctor gave me the choice on going on meds or control it with diet and exercise, I of course choose the latter. Thankfully I could rely on my Tastefully Simple to help me on my food journey for this new phase in my life. Now if you are like me and need to keep an eye on carbs but not a big fan of crunching on carrots and lettuce leaves, I got you!

The Cutting Carbs meal plan is here to help you stay on track but not feel like you are missing out on anything.

Pick and choose your favorite recipe. Don't like something? Swap it out! And the best thing is that most of Tastefully Simple's meal kits are able to make meals for a family of 4!

So go ahead. Go carb free for as long as you would like. Trust me. You won't miss a thing!

Now if you are looking to overhaul your eating habits, then you might like to look into our reset kits. Depending on where you are in your health/food journey, you can decide if you would like to reset for 5 days or 14 day.

ree

Why reset? Reset is not a diet per se. It is just a way to get your body back on track if you feel you have not been eating right or simply would just like to start eating healthier. It is also a matter of simplicity. As mentioned earlier, the recipes are simple and easy to make, with relatively little cooking experience required. So if you are not a cooking guru and feel like this may not be your thing, no worries!

In addition, they are simple enough to make substitutions without missing a beat. If you have a food allergy or if there is something that you don't like, find a substitute that you do like. This my friend is the best part of TS meal kits! I am a very picky eater and so, there a lot of foods I don't eat. The fact that I can swap out the foods is awesome!!!

Another reason to consider TS Meal Kits is to save money. How? Eat at home! Any food plan that that supports meals at home, is ok by me! Especially when you can sit down and eat as a family! Side note: The benefits of family dinners are backed by tons of positive research, from improving academic performance to improved mental health!

Most importantly, eating healthy doesn't have to taste like dirt! Gone are the days that when people think of eating healthy, images of alfa sprouts, tofu, cottage cheese, and unseasoned food comes to mind! Or at least that is what comes to my mind. Well not anymore! These recipes are delicious and loaded with protein and other nutrients that your body needs. It makes it possible to eat healthy foods that you love as part of a healthy lifestyle change, not just as part of a "diet plan."

This is an easy and simple choice. This plan gives you the menu, recipes, shopping list and even the ahead-of-time preparation tips. It takes the guess work and the "what's for supper" out of it. The only decision you really have to make is to choose which meal kit you would like to try.

By the way, I will be holding a Get Ready For Feast Season event on Facebook. It is free to join and I will be showcasing some of the easy and yummy recipes that are featured in the meal kits. If you would like to join, just contact me here or comment on this post and I will make sure you get an invite!

I will be getting ready for the Feast Season. Who will be joining me?
