COVID & Working From Home

How has quarantine been treating you? Unless you are an essential worker, you are most likely working from home. Like me. At first it sounds great, right? No alarm clock to answer to. You can work in your pajamas or t-shirt and yoga pants. Zoom meetings are fun and exciting and no one but you knows that you are not wearing pants! This is going to be great! Until it's not.
After week 3, it is not so fun or exciting anymore. There is no one there to say, hey wake up and put some clothes on! Morning routines have completely vanished. You have visited the kitchen and fridge every hour. Evening routine has also gone by the way side. And going out only involves grocery shopping and back again. So, what to do?

First, get a routine started. It does not have to be just like when you were working at your office or job location. Set the alarm for the ideal time that will work for you and the things you have to get done. Have a Zoom meeting at 11am? Get up by 9am, shower, have breakfast and prep for the meeting. This way, not rushing or panic. Make sure you are also scheduling time for lunch, this way you cut down grazing throughout the day. If you are working online, take a little time to get up and go outside. Take a walk around your neighborhood. Toward the end of your work day, you should be ready for dinner and preparing for your evening routine. Have dinner. Wash your face, brush your teeth and prepare for the next day ahead.
